Happier Hour: Truffles

My husband Alex loves happy hour. 

I’m not a fan of dollar drafts and half priced quesadillas. 

I hate feeling guilty when there isn’t something on the happy hour menu I want to eat, and at most places the happy hour menu is fried foods or fancy pizza aka ‘Flat Bread.’

Enter Truffles. Truffles is an expensive restaurant that I love but can’t afford often. Delicious duck, rack of lamb, you name it

Alex had heard they had a happy hour and I agreed to check it out.

Talk about game changing!

From 4 to 7 on weekdays, they have specials on house wines and cocktails, and AMAZING appetizers. I’m not talking buff chicken bites. 

Let’s start with the bread. 

Soft, spreadable sweet butter and crunchy crust, soft bread.  

 Followed by a delicious seasonal Butternut Squash and Sage Soup. The perfect pair with a very rainy day.

Next we move to the Escabache Fish Tacos
: corn tortilla, spicy mango mojo, cilantro coleslaw. YUM! 

 Next up, Beef Sliders, a take on their Truffle Burger: aged white cheddar, carmalized onions, lettuce, tomato, on a buttered bun. YUMMIER. 

   
Next. The moment I died and went to Happy Hour heaven. Raw Yellowfin Tuna Lettuce Wraps: crispy wonton threads, shaved jalapeño, sriracha, cilantro, yuzu ponzu. 

 We got a second order they were so good. 

5 appetizers, 3 glasses of Pinot Noir and we made it out in about $60. 

Moral of the story is check if some of your favorite restaunt shave a Happy Hour. Especially check the ones that are a little pricey and not your every week dinner joint.
