Review: Carl’s Deli

This born New Yorker loves her deli sandwiches. Hot pastrami on rye with spicy mustard is my everything.

Literally a block from our house sits Carl’s Deli, a tiny deli shop that seems to always have patrons. I’ve lived in this neighborhood for about 3 years, St. Louis for longer (too long).

Finally today, after years of mystery, I tried Carl’s Deli.

I went with the aforementioned ‘everything’, brought it home and dug in.

The meat was seasoned perfectly. The bread was a little soggy from transport in a plastic bag, but I didn’t mind a little.

The meat was also a tad greasy BUT IT WAS STILL DELICIOUS.

Not something I’ll have every week, but definitely a nice treat.

I miss Ben’s Deli.
